Welcome to the SFO Interactive Community Noise Map Application. This application is intended to provide residents with a better understanding of community noise impacts associated with operations at SFO. Noise data used in this application is derived from the airport noise and operations system, ANOMS8. This application does not provide real-time flight data, nor does the noise information represent daily fluctuations in aircraft noise. Instead, this provides information about typical aircraft flight operations and noise impacts, based on the “average” day. To view real time flight tracks,

The application can be broken down into three parts: Base Maps, Overlays and Address Locator. Each of the sections can be used in conjunction to research historical noise impacts in your neighborhood.
- Base Maps:
- Provide the base display layer upon which the noise data is overlaid. Users can choose from six different base maps: Aerial Photo 2005, Quarterly Contours 3rd Quarter 2007, 65 CNEL Contour 3rd Quarter 2007, Elevation Image, Terminal Area Chart, and Sectional Area Chart.
- Overlays:
- Provide the users with different noise data layers that can be placed on top of the base maps to graphically depict noise impacts to a specific area. The overlays are independent of each other and cannot be used together.
-
Most recent quarterly CNEL (Community Noise Equivalent Level, or noise contours)
Grid point locations
Flight tracks in numerous traffic flows
- Provide the users with different noise data layers that can be placed on top of the base maps to graphically depict noise impacts to a specific area. The overlays are independent of each other and cannot be used together.
- Address Locator:
- Provides a way for residents to locate their property on the selected base map layer and relate noise impacts to their location. In addition to inputting a street address, residents can select their neighborhood from the drop down list and the corresponding area will be highlighted on the map.
